ApproachHBT Architects was founded as Harrison Bridges & Associates in late 2000 and was formed with relationships that extend back many years. Our firm was designed to provide a creative working environment for talented people. Partners Trevor Harrison and Jim Tripp remain personally involved in all aspects of our projects. Our environment of learning and sharing reflects in our design approach and the satisfaction of our clients.
Our firm is dedicated to a high level of professionalism. Over half of our staff members are licensed architects with many years of experience and all our professional staff are encouraged to be LEED Accredited Professionals. This high standard is reflected in both employee and client satisfaction.

Trevor manages key firm clients in areas such as hospitality, colleges/universities, and medical. His creative and solid approach to project management and client satisfaction are evident in the many successful projects and satisfied clients working with the firm.

James Tripp brings over 20 years of both hands-on construction and design experience to all projects at HBT Architects. Mr. Tripp has served as project manager on numerous educational and hospitality projects offering unique and creative architectural design solutions. His background and training in building technology adds insight and value to the construction administration process.

Scott has over 30 years of experience in architectural and project programming, planning, design, production, and project administration for a wide range of types of projects. Included in this range of projects, Scott has been the Project Architect for many of the firms key projects in practice areas such as college and universities and healthcare. Recent projects include the Lipson Cancer Center and LEED certified student housing for Alfred University.

Kate Anderson has over 25 years of experience in designing and executing architectural spaces that are efficient and energizing. Kate works with clients to understand, develop and implement program needs. Her creative use of interior materials along with spatial design and detailing have produced fiscally responsible, creative and award winning interior solutions.

As a licensed architect with a strong focus on design and project visualization, Rebecca brings extensive experience to each project she is involved in. While employed in both Arizona and Boston, Ms Barone provided design services on various award winning and nationally published projects. At HBT Rebecca is involved in many of the firms most notable projects.

Jim Argenta has over 12 years of experience working on a wide variety of project types. While in California he provided design and construction administration services for numerous Health Care, Office, and Residential projects as well as the much acclaimed jazz club and restaurant, Yoshi’s San Francisco. Since joining HBT, Jim has expanded on his Health Care, Laboratory, and Hospitality work. He also managed the design and construction administration for the award-winning historical renovation of the former Dewitt Clinton Hotel (Marriott Renaissance) in Albany. A strong believer in client-centered architectural practice, Jim is committed to providing high-quality personalized architectural design that complements its owners and honors its environment.

Mike brings with him a strong repertoire of design skills and technical knowledge. His experience is focused primarily on college/university clients and high-rise development. He is invloved in many key projects at HBT. Mike’s objective with each project is to deliver thoughtful and pragmatic ideas at all levels of design, regardless of project type, scope, or budget.
Mary Beth Arnold
Mary Beth developed a depth of customer service experience in the hospitality and airline industries. The administrative skills developed in this work have directly impacted the efficiency and management of the office. Her many responsibilities range from general client services, human resources and weekly/ monthly bookkeeping duties.
Amber received her Bachelors of Architecture with a minor in Construction Management from Alfred State SUNY College of Technology in 2018. While at Alfred she placed third as part of the design/build team at the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Region 1 Competition. At HBT, Amber will combine her technical understanding and design sensibilities to inform all phases of project development - from concept design to construction documentation and observation.
Donna joined HBT Architects in 2006 as a Controller and brings accounting and auditing experience in various fields as well as solid business knowledge. Donna is a Certified Public Accountant and manages all financial, forecasting and reporting aspects of the firm and assists with business decisions. She also manages various human resource requirements.
Cameron joined HBT Architects soon after graduation and has been contributing to nearly every aspect of the design process since his arrival. His objective with each project is to deliver thoughtful and pragmatic ideas at all levels of design, regardless of project type, scope, or budget.
Kelsey received her bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2016. Prior to working at HBT, she gained a wide range of experience as an intern in New York City designing LEED-certified office interiors. She has always had a passion for art and design since a young age and pulls her inspiration from the art, culture, and community of Rochester. Kelsey uses her creativity to solve problems and seeks to create lasting design that embodies functionality and creativity.
Architect, AIA, LEED AP
Bruce has over 30 years of diverse experience in the architectural field. Beginning in 2002, he dedicated his efforts to fire station design. His project experience includes new construction, building additions and renovations, historic renovations, working closely with pre-engineered building suppliers when appropriate and incorporation of sustainable design elements within all projects.
Elizabeth thrives off of researching and continuing her education about the constantly evolving world of interior finishes and capabilities of proper material selections. Her goal with each project is to combine effective space planning with the use of unique materials in order to strike a balance between her client’s needs, an aesthetically energizing design and environmentally responsible solutions.
Angelina graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in interior design and a minor in communications from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2017. Amongst other honors, while at RIT her office design project was selected for the national NEXT Student Design Competition sponsored by Steelecase. Angelina’s career in interiors has allowed her to combine her outgoing personality and creative thinking with her passion for design. Angelina seeks to create environments that are grounded by both function and aesthetics, and that ultimately positively impact the lives of others.
Architectural Designer, CDT
Justin Hildreth brings 10 years of Architectural design experience to HBT providing experience in healthcare, higher education, and multi-site retail design projects. Justin focuses on creating experiences that are enjoyable for all involved in the process. He focuses on client satisfaction through effective communication and quality project documentation throughout the design and construction processes.
Kate is a registered architect with a specialty in healthcare design. She is adept at navigating complex programmatic and operational requirements to generate custom solutions for her clients’ specific operational needs, and she has extensive experience guiding Article 28 projects through the Certificate of Need process. Kate’s objective in each project is to seamlessly guide each project through the development, construction, and regulatory processes and ultimately deliver a product which improves the experience of her clients within their workplace.
Interior Designer, NCIDQ, LEED AP
Kirstin brings with her 15-plus years of experience in retail, hospitality, corporate and higher education. Kirstin's expertise stretches from space planning through to finish selection as well as project management. Her talents and vision allow a collaborative process with clients to fulfill their project vision. Kirstin is also an Adjunct Interior Design Instructor at The Rochester Institute of Technology.
Katie received her Master of Architecture degree from the University of Virginia in 2016. Prior to arriving at HBT, she held a diverse range of internships, gaining experience in the fields of strategic communications and editing as well as architecture. Katie believes that architecture can challenge the status quo while holding true to its people and place. As a designer she strives to engage multiple scales, systems and needs with creativity, clarity and purpose.
Claudia brings over a decade of design and construction experience to HBT. Her diverse background in design, including museums, exhibit spaces, commercial and hospitality projects, allows her to approach projects and problem solve with creativity and inventiveness. Claudia’s objective with every project is to engage with clients to create a memorable experience and deliver practical and logical designs.
Carrie Van Valkenburg Kehoe
Carrie brings nearly a decade of design and visual representation experience to HBT. Through her experience in landscape architecture and urban design, Carrie has worked on numerous award winning projects throughout the US and abroad. Her creative visioning and attention to detail has led to her current role leading and coordinating our approach to proposals, client relations and award submissions.
Ryan utilizes his experience with BIM to help create rendered graphics and construction documents. He values efficiency while retaining the highest attention to detail. Ryan focuses on remaining current with today’s technology, and aims to further develop HBT Architects’ standards.
