The School for American Crafts project replaces the existing workshop structures in an addition to the Booth Building. New glass furnaces, metal shops, and ceramic kilns are now located adjacent to their respective design studio spaces.
Demolition of the existing shop spaces will allow for the Second Phase of the project: The Vignelli Design Center housing the donated corporate archives of Vignelli Associates, research and study spaces, and galleries.
A new 5,000 square feet gallery provides exhibit and event space for the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences.
The addition and gallery provide a new face and entry for the Booth Building to the west – an area of the campus that has been significantly developed over the last few years.
