The Avon Free Library is located in the village of Avon in a 1928 traditional 2 story brick building. The goal of the renovation was to bring the library functionally into the 21st century while respecting its traditional roots. The first floor was opened-up to allow more natural light into the space and to provide a welcoming entry.
The lower level was also opened-up to enhance visual access to spaces. Flexible furniture solutions give users choices in how the spaces can be utilized.
BIG IDEA
Respectfully renovating a historic library to fit its modern-day program.
Our team successfully reimaged the lower level children’s area and conference room into an open, flexible, and engaging space for all ages of the community was inspiring and energizing.
