Workplace design is not one-size-fits-all. Every organization has its own culture that makes it unique.
Paychex Campus
Rochester, NY
To further their philosophy of “fostering innovation through engagement”, Paychex purchased 3 buildings, totaling 150,000 square feet, in a large suburban development with the goal of creating a new corporate campus. To achieve Paychex’s goals, the design team approached the project through four main themes: community, connectedness, biophilia and technology. These themes were implemented on a macro scale by redesigning the site for foot traffic, breaking up the buildings with new glass entries and landscaping with native plants. On a micro scale, a variety of spaces were designed such as phone booths, team rooms and casual meeting areas with lounge or booth seating for employees to work individually or gather in groups.
BIG IDEA
Existing prefab buildings get a new life and act as a back-drop to a corporate campus that puts employees’ well-being front and center.
“We were able to give new life to an existing multi-tenant Butler building while creating a new campus for Paychex. It was a great experience in adaptive re-use and place making, enhancing the company culture and promoting a healthy work environment.”
